Born in Oakland, California, Lyndsy Fonesca pursued the world of showbiz at a young age. Fonesca participated in the International Modeling & Talent Association, where she was discovered by a manager and agent. At age 13, she moved to Los Angeles and soon found a steady three-year role as Colleen Carlton on the CBS Soap opera, The Young and the Restless. After her gig on the world of soap operas, Fonesca continued to take on the world of television with guest and recurring roles in How I Met Your Mother, Boston Public, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, House, Desperate Housewives and Big Love.
In 2009, Fonesca married Canadian actor Matthew Smiley. The marriage was short-lived with Lyndsy filing for divorce in January 2013, citing irreconcilable differences. Since 2010, Fonesca has been part of the ensemble cast of the CW’s television hit, Nikita. She plays Alex, a rival opposite Maggie Q’s heroine.
In addition to television, Lyndsy has also dabbled in film with roles in Hot Tub Time Machine, The Ward and Fort McCoy. Her most notable film role is playing the romantic interest of Aaron Johnson’s Dave Lizewski in the Kick-Ass film series. She will be seen reprising her role as Katie Deauxma in Kick-Ass 2 that releases in 2013.
